Installation Instructions & Procedures
Shutter Installation:
- Please make sure that structural backing has been installed at frame stage where you intend to hang the shutter.
- Lay the shutter face down and apply a bead of construction adhesive approximately Ό thick every 6 8 the length of the shutter in a continuous zigzag pattern. We recommend the use of PL Premium Polyurethane Adhesive. You can find this product at your neighborhood Lowes or Home Depot.
- Hold the shutter against the stucco at the desired location of installation. Use galvanized screws of length sufficient enough to penetrate the structural backing at least ½ and drive them at an upward angle to avoid potential water penetration. Spread your screws out every 12 15 & counter sink them approximately 1/8. Make sure to hit backing!
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice. A pan or hex-head screw will also be a sufficient way to fasten the shutter with little to know repair.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.

Truss Tails:
- Slip the tail up over the existing truss & cut away any excess material if necessary.
- Apply a conservative amount of construction adhesive to all sides of the existing truss.
- Apply a Ό bead of caulking along the top & backside of the tail & set the tail in place.
- Fasten the tail to the truss using a 2 galvanized screw or brad nail every 12 or so.
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.

Beams:
- AAP recommends that the installer fix wood blocking to the mounting surface approximately every 2 3 successively the full length of the beam.
- Apply a Ό bead of construction adhesive along the top edges and hold the beam in place.
- Using 3-1/2 4 screws, fasten the beam to both sides of the mounting blocks.
- Seams and joints can be easily hidden with wood filler & a paint brush.
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.

Corbels:
- Corbels should be installed after Brown Coat before the final texture coat is applied.
- Always attach a solid piece of backing material to the desired installation area. Make sure the backer fits inside the corbel.
- Apply a Ό bead of construction adhesive to the edges and back of the corbel.
- Set the corbel in place and fasten the corbel to both sides of the backer using 2 galvanized screws.
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.

L-Shape Headers:
- Depending on builder specifications, L-Shape Headers can be installed at lathe stage or after stucco.
- Measure your opening and cut (if necessary) to fit.
- Lay the Header face down and apply a bead of construction adhesive approximately Ό thick every 6 8 the length of the header in a continuous zig zag pattern.
- Fasten the Header by drilling 3 4 galvanized screws at an upward angle to avoid potential water penetration. Spread your screws out every 12 15 & counter sink them approximately 1/8.
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.
Tile Vents:
- Tile Vents should always be installed at lathe stage.
- Please make sure that structural backing has been installed at frame stage where you intend to hang the vent.
- Once you have found your backing, apply a Ό bead of construction adhesive around the back of the vent.
- Fasten the vent with 3 4 galvanized screws at each corner and along the edges of the vent frame. Angle screws upward to avoid potential water penetration.
- No touch up necessary
vent frame will eventually have a stucco coat over it.

Columns:
- Locate the site of installation & slide the column over the existing post.
- Bring the column down and secure the base to the existing blocking with course galvanized deck or drywall screws.
- Attach the capitol by cutting it in half and apply a liberal bead of construction adhesive where you made your cuts. Bring the two halves together (make sure they are aligned) and wipe away any excess adhesive.
- If you encounter any problems with the two halves not coming together, use a couple sufficient length screws to pull and hold the two pieces together.
- Cover your screw holes with a dot of caulking or wood filler; most any brand of silicone caulking will suffice.
- Using a paint brush or small roller; touch up the area in which the caulking was applied.
